Sarah & Joey
The flame behind Hartisans
Boston, 2020. Joey started pouring so he could share his light with friends and family. The gifts became a company — small batch, sent with care, now in every state.
After they married, Sarah and Joey brought the studio to Durango. Same label-free soy candles. Same quiet luxury. Now poured together, sold online and at local markets.
Nothing makes us happier than our light burning in your home.

Light it. Love it. Grow it.
From candlelight to new life
The same vessel, four lives. A flame, then soil, then water, then air. Clean it out when the wax is gone and grow something in its place.

1. Fire
Light the candle.

2. Earth
When it is gone, fill the vessel with soil and seed.

3. Water
Give it a drink.

4. Air
Let it grow on the counter.
Fire→Earth→Water→Air

Questions
What people ask before they light one
Soy, the oil, the first burn, the vessel after. Short answers. The long ones live in the journal.

Yes. 100% soy wax. No paraffin. More
Whose fragrance oil do you use?
CandleScience. We name the oil on every product page. More
Why is there no label on the jar?
The scent is on the bottom. The room gets the glow. The vessel is meant to be kept. More
Do you pour to order?
Yes. You pick the oil and the vessel. We pour it in Durango. More
Where are Hartisans candles made?
In Sarah and Joey’s kitchen studio in Durango, Colorado. Not overseas. Not a co-packer. More
How do I keep a soy candle from tunneling?
First burn until the melt reaches the edges — usually two to three hours. More
Can I reuse a Hartisans vessel?
Yes. That is the point. Warm the last wax, wipe it out, and plant, or keep the jar on the shelf. More
How long does a poured-to-order candle take?
A few days in the kitchen for a ready oil and vessel, then shipping. If something is still traveling to us, the product page will tell you. More
