The pour

Morning on the island. Cardboard already stained. The Fast Melt ticking up. We do not pour in a factory — we pour what the day asks for, then we light one and tell the truth about it.

  1. 01

    The vessels

    They arrive in their sleeves.

Plum. Forest. White. Still in the plastic they traveled in, stacked on the box they came in. We slit only what the morning is actually pouring.

Nothing is printed on the ceramic. The color is the whole introduction. A room will remember that — not a logo.

  2. 02

    The wax

    Soy, heated once.

The Fast Melt lives on a crate by the wall and wears every pour it has ever made. Heating light on. Pitcher under the spigot. One hundred percent soy — no paraffin, no second trip through the pot.

Oil goes in when the wax is ready. Not before. Not twice. The drips down the crate are how you know it works for a living.

  3. 03

    The pour

Then the whole line goes down.

Wicks already seated — a wooden stick, a silver bar, whatever keeps them true. We walk the row with the pitcher while the soy is still gold and moving.

One kitchen. Two people. Cardboard on the island, pencil in the margin, a line that cannot wait.

  4. 04

    The wait

Held until the wax goes quiet.

Gold goes clear, then cream. The bars stay. We do not tap the tops. We do not peek. We do not “fix” a surface that is still becoming a candle.

Evening does the work. By morning they look like what they are.

  5. 05

    The notes

We light one and write it down.

A jar on the scale. Eco 12 or CD 24. White Birch. Blue Spruce. Grams in ink, wick in the margin, the paper left under the vessel like a promise.

Throw, tunnel, smoke — the burn has to be honest. If it fails, it never meets the shop.

  6. 06

    Out the door

    The light is the label.

A dozen nested in a divider. Scent written on the bottom — where a guest will never see it, and a host always can.

No sticker on the ceramic. Just the glow, leaving Durango for a room we will never stand in.

Nothing makes us happier than our light burning in your home.
